Accommodation on campsite Porto Vecchio

campsite Porto Vecchio, Corsica

With the Mediterranean before it and the hilly Corsican interior behind it, Cupulatta (the Corsican for ‘tortoise’) holiday park and campsite has an air of natural friendliness and has two hectares of grounds just a couple of minutes from the beach and from Porto Vecchio. You’ll find the aroma of the local vegetation — maquis — has a soothing effect. The beach is six minutes away and here you can go waterskiing, sailing, diving or of course just sunbathing. Camping Cupulatta is surrounded by plenty of pleasant spots for walks, riding, mountain biking or canyoning.

This is not a campsite with entertainment but you can amuse yourself with tennis, table tennis, pétanque, snooker and swimming at the pool (there’s a separate toddlers’ pool). The site also has a small playground, intimate restaurant, toilet facilities with washing machine, and camping pitches in full sun.

Corsica is a beautiful island featuring glorious scenery and beaches. Porto-Vecchio (25 miles) is known as the “St Tropez” of Corsica and the upper town offers panoramic views across the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio. The beaches around Porto-Vecchio are spectacular with white sand and glistening turquoise sea. Their shallow waters make them perfect for families.

The nearby Alta Rocca region offers an endless list of things to do with its gorges, rivers and waterfalls. Here you can enjoy hill walking, rock climbing, horse riding and quad biking. About an hour’s drive south is Bonifacio, a lovely medieval coastal town, set on the cliffs of a limestone peninsula. Bonifacio boasts a marina featuring impressive yachts and a choice of stylish bars and restaurants.

The French know Corsica as L’Île de Beauté, and that beauty is very much in evidence all around you. Corsica lives up to its reputation as a beautiful island. Make sure you have some quality time admiring the beautiful beaches, unspoilt coastal inlets and fertile hinterland, you should visit Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio for sure.
