Camping Nieuwpoort is a spacious 4-star campsite, set beside a large recreational lake 5km from the beach. Ideal for sailors, fishermen and surfers. Nieuwpoort is a medieval coastal port and a popular contemporary resort. Close by is the nature reserve 'De Ijzermonding', a favorite breeding ground for many seabirds and where seals are regularly seen. It's a beautiful hiking area.
Hire a bike or tandem and follow the lovely Frontzate route to Diksmuide or the Kleine Polderroute to Middelkerke. Walk through the car-free Zeedijk with its numerous shops, restaurants and cafes. Use the tram to explore the Flemish coastline. It runs every 15 minutes from Knokke to De Panne.
