There is only one road onto the island, which connects the island with the island of Cres via a bridge in Ossero. From Cres the ferry goes to the mainland. The two key towns on the island are Mali Losinj, the tourist centre, and Veli Losinj, a fishing village full of character with old, colourful houses and a lovely seafood restaurant with sea views.
