Accommodation on campsite Siblu Bonne Anse Plage

campsite Siblu Bonne Anse Plage, Poitou-Charentes

Bonne Anse Plage, located just 600m from the beach, is an impressive site and ideal for a family holiday. The campsite is set within a beautiful pine forest. There are views over Bonne Anse bay and the fantastic seaside town of La Palmyre is within walking distance, where visitors will find stunning sandy beaches, restaurants and cafés and one of France’s most famous zoos.

The emplacements are scattered amongst fragrant pine trees, which provide welcome shade from the sun. The facilities are grouped together at the site entrance and include a fabulous swimming pool with colourful twisting slides and a separate pool for the children. Enjoy a meal on the terrace of the restaurant before retiring to the bar, where discos are held twice a week in high season.

The holiday village has an outstanding pool complex with two large slides and a toddler pool, plus stacks of sports facilities including a climbing wall, football, basketball and boules pitches, and a crazy golf course.

Active holidaymakers will enjoy the impressive sports facilities on offer, including a multi sport area and an impressive 18-hole mini golf course. If you want to venture further a field, why not hire a bike on site and head into the forest, where there are many cycle paths to explore.

With sheltered beaches and coves, the beach resort of La Palmyre is ideal for families. But if you prefer catching the waves, then head further round the coast near the lighthouse for excellent surfing. There’s also a good bay here for windsurfing.

Your children will love the zoo at La Palmyre - particularly as many of the animals will happily munch popcorn out of their hands, the elephants and giraffes seem particularly keen on the stuff. Just don’t let them try this with the lions! The zoo is one of the biggest in Europe with 1,600 animals. It runs breeding programmes for endangered species but something makes me suspect that your children are going to be more interested in the parrot and sealion shows, the baby monkeys and zebras, and the extrovert meercats who love to play up to an audience.
