Les Cigales (Rocamadour)

Camping Les Cigales is located in the heart of the region so it is not far from all the attractions. This is the ideal place for a holiday in France for young and old. Rocamadour has maintained its medieval character. The town is the most visited place of pilgrimage in France after Lourdes and is dedicated to the Black Madonna of Rocamadour. In the vicinity of camping Les Cigales are archaeological sites, gorges, caves and traditional villages. The view from the canyon of Alzou, in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Causses du Quercy, is impressive.

If you want to enjoy the facilities at the campsite, take a cooling dip in the outdoor pool. There is a special children's pool. Have a game of pétanque or table tennis or take your children to the playing field with trampolines and other activities. Camping Les Cigales also rents out board games. In high season the campsite entertainment team organises an extensive programme for the whole family, geared to various age groups, such as digging for treasure, sports tournaments, aerobics or canoeing on the Dordogne. The entertainment team does not rest in the evening. Films are shown on a giant screen for example. A small train goes from camping Les Cigales for night-time excursions to the town of Rocamadour. Appetites are also catered for. There is a bakery service for breakfast and lunch. Takeaway meals are on sale in high season. If you want to do the cooking yourself you can get supplies in the campsite supermarket. The bar is the place for an aperitif. You can stay in contact with the rest of the world from this campsite in France via a WiFi point.

A great day out is a visit to the Forêt des Singes in Rocamadour. This is a park where you can watch 130 monkeys roaming around freely. The cave of wonders, the Rocher des Aigles, is a place not to be missed. Hiking, canoeing, kayaking, horse riding and rock climbing are sports that are very practiced widely in this region.
