Huurtent.nl was founded in 2002 and has grown over the past 24 years into a trusted starting point for comfortable camping holidays. Two years later, Rentamobilehome.uk was developed as the English-language version of the platform, tailored to the needs of international and UK campers. All our websites share the same philosophy: combining the atmosphere of camping with the convenience of comfort.

In January 2026, this website was completely renewed. The familiar and successful concept has been retained, now presented in a fresh, modern design and built with the latest technology. You’ll notice it right away: the website is more user-friendly, faster, and more enjoyable to use than ever before.

It started in 2002…

The idea behind Huurtent.nl came from two enthusiastic camping lovers who wanted to enjoy camping without the hassle of bringing their own equipment. Staying in a rental tent or mobile home made holidays more relaxed, comfortable and accessible.

Over the years, we travelled across Europe with our family and visited many campsites in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Croatia. From large, lively holiday parks to small, charming campsites surrounded by nature. Wherever we went, one thing was clear: children feel at home quickly on campsites – and so do adults.

Based on these experiences, Rentamobilehome.uk was launched in 2004, offering English-speaking visitors a clear and reliable platform for finding comfortable camping holidays across Europe.

Our son Robert grew up with camping and has been working full-time on the platform for many years. For the past two years, he has been the main owner and is responsible for the day-to-day development of Huurtent.nl and Rentamobilehome.uk. We support him in the background with our experience, ideas and love for camping.

Camping the way we love it

For us, the combination of camping atmosphere and comfort creates the perfect holiday. In spring, we enjoy staying in a fully equipped mobile home; in summer, we prefer a spacious rental or glamping tent with essential comforts. You live outdoors, connect easily with others, children play freely, and the holiday feeling begins right away.

Since 2002, we have received many positive responses from both visitors and providers. This motivates us to keep improving our platforms. The number of organisations featured on Huurtent.nl and Rentamobilehome.uk has grown into a carefully selected mix of large and small providers.
