Domaine de Gil

Beschrijving

Camping Domaine de Gil is a small, green four-star campsite located directly on the River Ardèche, complete with its own pebble beach. Situated near Ucel and not far from Aubenas, it is an excellent base for exploring the Ardèche and the wider Gard/Languedoc-Roussillon region. Facilities such as the sanitary buildings, restaurant and snack bar are of good quality.

Between the pitches and the river lies a spacious open area. Along the Ardèche you will find sandy, pebbled and grassy areas with sun loungers and picnic tables. A small waterfall and plenty of trees provide shade. Guests can swim, fish or enjoy the gently sloping riverbank.

For extra water fun, there is a stylish outdoor pool with a 50-metre water slide. While children enjoy the slide, parents can relax in the jacuzzis. There is also a paddling pool for younger children. During high season, a Kids Club and evening entertainment are organised. The campsite also arranges activities such as kayaking, walking and canoeing.

Nearby you will find the impressive Gorges de l’Ardèche, the spa town of Vals-les-Bains, and the picturesque town of Aubenas, just 10 minutes away.

Aubenas features historic town walls, the 1640 Dôme Saint-Benoît chapel, the Château d’Aubenas on Place du Château, and the 16th-century Maison aux Gargouilles. You can also visit the Dépôt d’Art Sacré museum.

Within approximately one hour’s drive are the beautiful cities of Nîmes, Avignon and Montpellier, known for their culture and history.
