La Venise Verte is a beautiful green campsite located by the River Sèvre Niortaise, close to the village of Coulon, in the heart of the Marais Poitevin marshlands. The campsite is spacious, well maintained and surrounded by nature. Its location in the “Green Venice” of the Marais Poitevin Regional Nature Park makes it especially appealing for nature lovers.

The Marais Poitevin is a vast wetland area, a remnant of the former Gulf of Poitou. Parts of it were drained in the 13th century by local monks. Although this work was interrupted during the Hundred Years’ War, it was later resumed under the direction of Henry IV, led by a Dutch engineer. Today, the area covers approximately 1,120 km².

After an active day outdoors, cool off in the campsite’s swimming pool with separate paddling pool. Children can have fun in the playground, and in high season activities are organised for children up to six years old.
