Campsite Solitudo Sunny Camping, Dalmatia
Just to the north-west of Dubrovnik is the peninsula called Babin Kuk. This is where the small campsite Solitudo is to be found, as a part of a larger resort with luxury facilities. Naturally campsite guests may use of all of these facilities.
You can use the large swimming pool and children's pool and loungers, the pool bar, the tennis courts, the sports ground, the scuba diving and sailing school and enjoy the entertainment. On the campsite itself you'll find shops and market stalls plus the Bistro Solitudo, where you can enjoy delicious local food and Dalmatian wines. The nearest beach is about 200m away, but the resort also has another nice beach, namely Copacabana. It is made up of sand and fine pebbles and has sun loungers and parasols for hire.
Dubrovnik, 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. Favoured long ago by the British poet Lord Byron and writer Bernard Shaw, and still a wonderful place today. From the campsite it's just a 10-minute drive to the city and the road into town provides a wonderful view over the characteristic houses with their red roofs. The entire city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Visit the Doge's palace, the Balsius church and the Franciscan monastery. Plus of course the countless terraces, restaurants and many fountains filled by water from the mountain reservoirs. From this narrow part of Croatia you can easily drive into Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Mostar, with its famous bridge, is 140km away.
