Camping Koningshof is a lovely, small, family-friendly campsite on the outskirts of Rijnsburg, around 5 km from the beautiful beaches of Katwijk and Noordwijk. Surrounded by greenery, the campsite offers a peaceful setting, with sandy beaches and dunes just a short distance away. There are plenty of facilities for younger children, including indoor swimming pools and an outdoor pool with a waterslide and a separate paddling pool. The imaginatively designed indoor pool is particularly popular with little ones, offering plenty of splashing fun.

A family-friendly campsite in South Holland

Despite its location in the heart of the Randstad, the Netherlands' most densely populated region, four-star Camping Koningshof enjoys a lovely countryside setting. It's an ideal holiday destination for families with children up to around ten years old.

The campsite has spacious play areas, a lovely fishing pond, a welcoming restaurant and a snack bar. During the school holidays, there's also a fun programme of activities to keep the children entertained. Other facilities include a skate park, a playground and a football pitch.

For everyday essentials, fresh bread and newspapers, there's a well-stocked campsite supermarket. Don't fancy cooking? Pick up a snack or takeaway meal, or enjoy a relaxed meal in the cosy restaurant, where there's also a special children's menu.

The beautiful countryside around Rijnsburg makes Camping Koningshof a great holiday destination at any time of year. In spring, admire the colourful fields of flowering bulbs, spend summer days relaxing on the beach, or enjoy walks through the woods and dunes in autumn. The popular seaside resorts of Katwijk, Noordwijk, Scheveningen and Zandvoort are all within easy reach.

There are also plenty of interesting towns and cities nearby, including Leiden, Haarlem, The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Explore historic town centres, browse charming shops or stop for a drink at a pavement café. If the weather isn't quite so good, you'll find plenty of museums, theatres and cinemas to visit.

Treat the children to a fun-filled day out

There are lots of great family attractions within easy reach of the campsite. Head to De Bubbel Jungle indoor play centre in Leiderdorp, or visit Linnaeushof in Bennebroek, Europe's largest playground. Both are perfect for a fun family day out.

Another popular choice is Duinrell amusement park, with more than 40 rides and attractions, as well as the tropical Tiki Pool water park. Fancy seeing the whole of the Netherlands in miniature? Then a visit to Madurodam is a must!

There are also several fascinating museums nearby, including Space Expo in Noordwijk, Katwijk Museum, CORPUS Experience in Oegstgeest and, of course, the Naturalis Natural History Museum in Leiden.
