De Vreemde Vogel (The Strange Bird), this is South Holland at its best, an outdoor hotel with the beach, nice cities and nature nice and close. You will find this great glamping location on the edge of Vlaardingen, 2 kilometers from the Broekpolder nature reserve and a short distance from Rotterdam and Schiedam. A small-scale beautiful green residence where you will find 10 special accommodations outside. Because the special holiday homes are heated, you can book them all year round. The accommodations all have private sanitary facilities and made-up beds. And for that little bit extra, there is an extensive regional breakfast every morning.

And if you want to reach heights, choose the Ostrich Family. Here you have a nice view of the farm animals and the sanitary facilities are located at the bottom of the accommodation. And how about an overnight stay on an airplane? A great place, just like the SpaceMees, for families with older children who like to sleep a little higher. If you are with 8 people, a holiday in the safari tent or the Firebird is ideal. For a cozy place for two, choose the Parrot, the Cozy Ostrich or the Moorhen.

In short, there is plenty of choice and it is mainly about hospitality, conviviality, nature and adventure. The owners, Petra and Davy, have made it a special place. There is always private sanitary facilities, a delicious breakfast and the beds are made upon arrival. A location where families with young and slightly older children will feel completely at home.

Being active outdoors, visiting the beach or a nice city, you will certainly be hungry when you arrive back at the Strange Bird. For a cup of coffee with homemade cake you can visit the Tuincafé at weekends and during the holidays. And during the summer holidays you can also enjoy a delicious meal here all week until 8 p.m. You can fully enjoy it from the terrace on the water, but in bad weather the garden house is also a nice place to enjoy a day in South Holland.

A child-friendly place with plenty of space and entertainment
The Strange Bird is a great place for young explorers. The green location is spacious, with an animal meadow and playground for plenty of play, and in bad weather you can do crafts indoors (Sundays).
