Adria camp site in Ankaran is located in a narrow part of Slovenia on the Adriatic Sea, between the beautiful Istrian peninsular (Croatia) and the town of Trieste in the most easterly part of Italy, just over the Italian/Slovenian border on the sunny part of the Milje peninsula. You can get there via the Skofije border crossing, or maybe take the easier crossing at Lazaret
Camping Adria is a very big camp site but thanks to the many trees and pathways it has a friendly and intimate feel. On this elongated campsite that stretches along the Adriatic Sea you will find excellent facilities. Among them is a swimming pool (salt water) of Olympic dimensions and a shallow pool for the kids. There are good toilet facilities, a shop, supermarket, bars, restaurants, tennis courts, minigolf, table tennis, a wellness centre, playground, beach showers and even a first aid post. There is a well stocked campsite shop and a friendly restaurant with a romantic view out to sea. You can walk straight from the camp site to the quay with a jetty for boats and to the beach. The water is clear blue and shallow by the beach. Ideal for families with young children! Apart from sunbathing on the campsite's own (pebble) beach you can enjoy swimming, snorkelling or fishing.

A wonderful region for camping holidays with sun, sea and sand, but also an area with plenty of lovely places to discover. The pleasant climate provides a lush vegetation with cypresses, bay trees and olive groves. The Slovenian lakes and mountains, the unspoilt countryside and the coast with the old harbour town of Koper, from where boats depart to Portoroz, Ancona and Brindisi. Koper is just a few kilometres from the camp site. The well sheltered piece of coastline is perfect to combine a beach holiday to some culture. The Italian history of this part of Slovenia is still present in many places. A beautiful building is the Adria Hotel that used to be the Benedictine Monastery of Saint Nicolaj. Later is was occupied by the noble Medonizza family. You could visit Lipica, with its famous stud farm of the Lipizzaner horses, and the caves of Postojna and Skocjan are worth a day trip. Walkers will love exploring the Slovenian forests.
