campsite Grand Kazela, Istria
Village Kazèla camp site is stretched along the coast, about one kilometre outside Medulin. This site has a unique location on the most southerly point of the Istrian peninsular in Croatia. The camping grounds are situated directly on the Adriatic Sea and the site is extensive, meaning that you are only a few steps away from the beach from every camping pitch. It has its own jetty and good facilities. You can swim in the campsite's aquapark: the camp site has a brand new swimming park with no fewer than 12 small swimming pools. Sports are possible on or in the sea, or at the campsite. Tennis, volleyball, basketball - there's plenty of choice. You can dance in the sultry evening air or simply sit on the restaurant's large terrace and enjoy the sunset. There is wonderful diving here (diving lessons are also given) but there are many more opportunities for sport during your holiday: water skiing, sailing and paragliding for example. There is an active miniclub for the youngest campers, those slightly older can have the time of their lives on the beach volleyball pitch. After all this activity the restaurant terrace is the place to be where you can enjoy one of the local specialities.
Campsite Kazela comprises two sections; it is partly a naturist camp site. The naturist section is separated from the clothed section by a natural embankment. The grounds are open, the number of shaded pitches is limited. But even on the hottest days in sunny Croatia this is no real problem, for there is always a refreshing breeze here so that it is very pleasant even in the midday sun. Moreover you have lovely views of the sea from almost everywhere! The coastline here is really beautiful with rugged formations and countless bays, headlands and long uninhabited islands just off the coast. And, of course the clear blue water for which Croatia is so famous.
Medulin is located close to the town of Pula, the 'Pearl of Istria', an ancient Roman town that you really shouldn't miss. The old Roman amphitheatre is impressive and you will find ancient Roman buildings everywhere in this city. Outside Italy, Pula is the best preserved Roman city. It's just like Rome but with a Croatian influence. As a contrast to the busy Pula, Medulin is a place of quietness. Its characteristic church with the two bright, white towers and a lovely boulevard, which is very charming in the evening. But the small fishing villages and the unspoilt countryside inland give a good impression of real Croatian life.
Enjoy the peacefulness of a boat trip along the coast. Hire a (sailing) boat and visit the beautiful bays with their crystal clear waters, or visit the small town of Premantura on the peninsula near cape Kamenjak, which is the most southerly edge of Istria, and the lighthouse on the tiny isle of Porer.
