campsite Le Ranolien, Brittany (Bretagne)
A beautifully landscaped site with a lovely waterpark and wonderful setting on the Pink Granite coast. With a lively atmosphere in high season, it is set within a nature conservation area, with breathtaking views over the Sept-Îles islands. The tropical waterpark makes good use of the local pink granite and the old Breton stone farm buildings house an attractive bar, restaurant and cellar disco.
If you’re feeling energetic, see how many of the pools you can swim across in one session. This parc boasts a landscaped water complex comprising six heated pools, one of which is indoor. In addition to this there are also giant and multi lane waterslides, waterfalls and a Jacuzzi. If you’re visiting in low season, have no fear about dipping into the covered pool as it’s always heated. When evening arrives, grab dinner in the bar, pizzeria or crêperie (all have been converted from an authentically French stone building).
A busy weekly market is held in the small town of Ploumanc'h which is in walking distance of the parc. If you'd like to walk a bit further, take a stroll along the old smugglers paths which go for miles along the Pink Granite coastline. Alternatively take a boat trip out to Les Sept Isles, located off the coast of Perros Guirec, the home of seals and 27 different species of birds.
