Camping in Aquitaine – Atlantic Coast, Lakes and Vineyards in Southwest France
Aquitaine, now part of the larger Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in southwest France, is one of the country’s most versatile holiday destinations. Stretching from the long Atlantic coastline to rolling vineyards inland, the region appeals to families, couples and active travellers alike. The city of Bordeaux is the cultural centrepiece of Aquitaine. Located on the banks of the Garonne River, Bordeaux is known for its elegant architecture, historic bridges and lively atmosphere. The historic district, known as Port de la Lune, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and reflects the city’s maritime past.
