Sandaya campsite l’Estanquet is a wonderful destination for young families in the Charente-Maritime region of south-west France. With the beach just 5 kilometres away and an expansive pool complex on site, it makes a fantastic holiday spot for watersport enthusiasts. During peak season, an array of fun activities is organised for all ages. After a day spent by the pool or on the beach, you can sit down for a meal at the cosy restaurant in the evening. And after a delicious dinner, hop on your bike for a relaxed cycle down to the beach.

A large water park for the whole family

The heated water park caters to all ages. Splash around in the paddling pool, whizz down the waterslides, and enjoy a lovely day by the water. The restaurant terrace looks directly out over the pool area. In high season, there are plenty of arts and crafts sessions, while teenagers can make new friends at the teen club.

Plenty of cycling routes through expansive woodlands

Hire a bike at the campsite and head out exploring together. Alternatively, visit La Palmyre Zoo and see who can spot the most species of animals; the zoo is easily reached by bike from the campsite. Within twenty minutes, you can also reach the stunning sandy beaches of the Côte Sauvage. If you are looking for a bit more action, a visit to the Indian Forest treetop adventure park comes highly recommended. Fancy a cultural day trip during your holiday too? Be sure to visit the islands of Île de Ré and Île d'Oléron, plan an excursion to the historic city of La Rochelle, or discover the iconic Fort Boyard together. And do make sure to sample the delicious fresh oysters and mussels along this French coastline.
