This camp site in the most easterly part of Italy (the area around Trieste) is called Campeggio Mare Pineta Baia Sistiana in full. You have wonderful views of eastern Italy and Istria from high up over the Sistiana Bay, one of the most beautiful parts of the Adriatic.The camp site is about 500 metres from the sea. Off to the beach? Then take the campsite shuttle train that runs between the campsite and the beach throughout the day. If you prefer to walk it's just a 20 minute stroll and you'll be at the water's edge.

As for the camp site itself; there are beautiful natural grounds with tall pine trees which provide pleasantly shady spots, and a lovely swimming pool with deckchairs. There is a tennis court, table tennis and a basketball field so you can easily spend an hour or two playing sport if that's what you want. There is also a nice playground for the little ones.

Enjoy some cycling or a game of tennis and later relax with a refreshing drink in the bar or have a delicious Italian meal while the entertainment team put on a show. There's entertainment and a playground for small children.

The narrowest part of Italy is in the very north east of the country, where the coast road to Trieste is only a few kilometres from the Slovenian border. The low land of the Italian northern coastline is been replaced by rocks that are typical of the Croatian coastline. At one of the natural bays is Sistina, between the fortified castles of Duino and Miramare. These castles once protected the city of Trieste against it enemies.

Trieste is a lovely city, full of historic builings, museums and lots of pleasant terraces. Boat trips are available via the castles of Trieste. Enjoy the wonderful countryside that surrounds the Isonzo river. Visit on of the many 'osmizze'. these are characteristic farmhouses where you can taste their home made wines.

(Suncamp Holidays) Nette camping met een groot en schoon zwembad. Prachtig uitzicht over de zee. Met een treintje kun je naar het strand. Lopend kan ook, maar het is een erg steile weg. Wij hadden fietsen mee en dat is wel handig. Conad op ongeveer 1km en op de camping zelf een Spar. Animatieteam was meer gericht op de jongere kinderen. Gelukkig niet al te veel lawaai bij het zwembad. Restaurants zijn ook prima, wij hebben er goed gegeten. Ook erg aardig personeel.

Een zeer bijzondere vakantie gehad. alles heel positief. Mooi schoon zwembad, klein winkeltje. Je kunt met treintje naar het strandje. Met de boot naar Triëst of met de bus. Voor jong gezinnen een groot nadeel het lawaai vanaf het strand in de avond en later.

Onze accommodatie de Lodge Clever was een toppertje. Verder een fijne camping met aardig personeel. De weg bij de camping is wel te horen. Sanitair keurig wel wat verouderd. Je gaat met treintje naar zee waar dan ook restaurantjes etc zijn, neem wel waterschoenen mee. Een groot nadeel was de harde muziek die je de hele nacht hoorde vanaf het strand, jammer dit was voor ons niet super.

De camping ligt mooi bovenop een heuvel en het uitzicht over de baai van Sistiana is erg mooi. Het dorp stelt niets voor maar in de omgeving genoeg te beleven. Strand is helaas niet op loopafstand met 2 kleinere kinderen. Het is leuk om met het treintje naar beneden te gaan maar dan ben je wel aan tijd gebonden. Sanitair is schoon. Restaurant eenvoudig. Snackbar erg duur.

TIPS:

"Diverse malen het gezellige plaatsje Grado bezocht. Prachtig strand, leuke winkelstraatjes."

Voor het eerst een tent gehuurd, en supergoed bevallen. Wij werden zo hartelijk verwelkomd, leuk om zo je vakantie te beginnen. De bungalowtenten waren heel mooi en goed ingericht. Fijne camping, mooi aangelegd. Jammer van de spoorlijn en snelweg vlakbij. ook s'avonds veel drukte op de camping, maar zeker niet ongezellig. Strand met auto te bereiken. Grote restaurant niet doen, wel lekkere snacks. Zwembad is OK en sanitair zeker.
