Camping Le Cormoran is a welcoming, medium-sized family campsite with 372 pitches on the beach-rich Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy. Guests enjoy direct access to the famous Utah Beach here. The clean, golden sand is literally around the corner, perfect for endless beach fun. The fresh sea air ensures a mild summer climate, making the campsite ideal for families with young children. A relaxed, hospitable atmosphere and impressive history effortlessly come together here for the ultimate holiday experience.
Pool fun and relaxation
There is no shortage of facilities on the campsite. The beautifully landscaped pool complex offers heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Outside, there is plenty of water fun thanks to a great waterslide and a shallow toddler pool. Indoors, a wellness area with a spa bath and sauna awaits for total relaxation. Sporty guests can enjoy football, table tennis, petanque, or yoga. Additionally, there is a small animal park and a lively entertainment programme in the amphitheatre. In the on-site restaurant, one can enjoy fresh seafood and artisan wood-fired pizzas.
Impressive D-Day history
The campsite forms the perfect base for discovering the historic D-Day locations. Utah Beach is right on the doorstep. Just a few minutes away lies the impressive Utah Beach Museum, built on the original landing site, where an original B-26 bomber can be admired. A little further away, just under eleven kilometres, is the authentic Sainte-Mère-Église. This was the first French town to be liberated at the time. The world-class Airborne Museum located here is highly recommended for a memorable day trip.
The true Norman countryside
Alongside cultural history, the surroundings offer beautiful, soothing nature. The nearby Ravenoville-Plage is surrounded by dunes and is ideal for long beach walks. The authentic Norman countryside is characterised by meadows with black-and-white cows, apple orchards, and quiet villages with stone churches. Walkers can indulge themselves on the coastal paths or in the nearby marshes, which are known for their rare bird species. This ideal blend of beach, history, and a beautiful hinterland makes every holiday at this destination unforgettable.
