Camping L’Etang de la Brèche is five miles from the market town of Saumur. With an upmarket country club atmosphere the site is extremely well maintained by the owners. The Domaine de la Brèche, set in a 50 acres wooden estate along the Loire, 3 miles upstream from Saumur, is a member of the prestigious chain of Les Castels, which groups privately owned 4 and 5 stars camp sites throughout all of France in exceptional settings.
There are also spacious grounds for children to explore and a swimming pool complex with four pools surrounded by a pleasant sun terrace. Children can run wildly and safely in the open spaces and the playgrounds without disturbing the adults who can enjoy a well deserved siesta under the shade of the old oak trees. The pool area with its heated swimming pools, water slides and paddling pool for the younger ones will please every member of the family. And if the weather gets bad, one of the pools can be covered in a glance.
Beautiful old stone buildings surround a courtyard housing a shop, oak-beamed bar and elegant conservatory restaurant. Local trains can sometimes be heard from the site.

Leuke camping vlak bij Saumur. De afstand vanaf Nederland is ook perfect, in een dag te rijden. Wij vonden het een prima camping maar vooral voor jonge gezinnen. Onze stacaravan was nog vrij nieuw en dus ok. Zwembad werd door onze kindjes goed gebruik van gemaakt, dus prima. In september stond water van de rivier erg laag, was wel een minpunt.

Vorig jaar hier ook een mooie vakantie gehad. De camping is ruim opgezet en het personeel is zeer vriendelijk. De kinderen hebben zich uitstekend vermaakt in het zwembad en vriendjes gemaakt met andere Nederlandse gezinnen. Sanitair is gedeeltelijk nieuw. In dit gebied is veel te beleven als je van natuur en cultuur houdt. Dichtbij is Saumur een bezoekje waard. Wel veel Engelsen die hier ook vaker komen en elkaar blijkbaar uitbundig kennen(!)

De camping is super, helaas hadden wij een caravan geboekt bij organisatie nog geen Euro..... waard. Stuk, vies en er werd niets opgelost. Maar goed de camping is zeker een 8 waard. Mooi zwembad, schoon sanitair. Mooie omgeving.
