La Grande Tortue is a wonderful place for kids. And, let’s face it – that fact alone makes it an excellent choice for mums and dads too.
The play park here features a rope-climbing frame, trampolines, inflatables, swings, a multi-sports field and even a zip line. If you can drag your children away for long enough, they’ll find the pool area has lots to keep them busy too, with waterslides and a brilliant splash playground. And in the high season, there’s also a mini club that hosts everything from children's cooking classes, to fashion shows and creative workshops.
All of which means you may have more free time on your hands than you bargained for. No bad thing – this flower-filled woodland site is the perfect place to sit back, relax and while away a few hours (possibly with a cocktail on the restaurant’s terrace).

The swimming pool complex at La Grande Tortue features a partially covered outdoor pool and water slides. It’s a wonderful place for younger kids to splash about in too, thanks to its separate paddling pools and splash playground. If you fancy a more serene watery experience, you’ll find the parc’s spa area even has a jacuzzi – the perfect place to relax and unwind.

You can relax on the terrace with a cocktail, an ice cream or enjoy one of the dishes carefully prepared by their chef at the restaurant and bar complex. The restaurant also offers breakfasts and takeaway meals. You will find local products, pastries and fresh bread every day at the mini-market and bakery - perfect for those must-have breakfast croissants. No one makes them like the French!

It’s not just us who thinks the Loire Valley is a remarkable place – the folks at UNESCO do too. That’s why they’ve made the whole area one huge World Heritage Site. The valley and its river provide the backdrop for famous vineyards, beautiful cities and more romantic châteaux than you’d ever think possible.
Within easy reach of La Grande Tortue is the wonderful city of Blois. This is one of France’s protected Historic Towns, and with good reason. A day spent exploring the cobbled medieval streets here will reveal many beautiful monuments, including the elegant Chateau de Blois.
