campsite Le Village Corsaire des 2 Plages, Poitou-Charentes
Camping Le Village Corsaire des Deux Plages is located just 300 metres from the Châtelaillon-Plage beach on the Atlantic coast in Central France. The entrance to the grounds is 'guarded' by an enormous pirate ship that rises high above the swimming pool. This 'pirate's den' is a real family campsite. Exciting for the children because the entire campsite is based around a pirate theme! There is a spacious terrace with deck chairs around the swimming pool which has tropical vegetation and there is also a shallow toddlers' pool.
There is always something to do at the beach, and you are there in no time; just cross over the railway line. The sea goes out a long way at low tide allowing the children to play in the sand and hunt for crabs and shells.
Lively Châtelaillon is close by with shops, pavement cafes, restaurants, a disco, a casino and a picturesque harbour. For trips out you are right in the middle of the top tourist resorts in this region: the islands of Ile d'Oléron and Ile de Ré, the resort of La Rochelle and the famous Fort Boyard right in the middle of the sea! So a perfect campsite for a beach holiday in the sun with plenty to see and experience.
Remark: on one side of the campsite where the camping pitches are located, there is a fairly busy road, and a railway line passes by on the beach side. This is only for local trains. Between midnight and 6 o' clock in the morning there are virtually no trains.
