On the Île d’Oléron, a short distance from the Atlantic, you’ll find Les Embruns d'Oléron holiday park and campsite in woodland. You are guaranteed a successful camping holiday at this campsite in France (Charente-Maritime region) because both on site and nearby, there’s so much to do. The water forms the main attraction at Camping Les Embruns d'Oléron itself: you can go swimming, do aquagym to music, play a water polo match. Or just laze around at the water’s edge soaking up the sun. There’s a toddlers’ pool, too.

Camping Les Embruns d'Oléron also has a lively restaurant with patio, a shop for essentials, bar and snack bar. Even better, this is a site with riding stables: you can go galloping down the beach on horseback!

The area around the campsite has no fewer than eight beaches, as well as 800 hectares of pine and oak forest. The unspoilt Île d’Oléron has two faces: pine and oak grow on the sandy coasts at the west end, their summits touching the azure sky, while the east end is where you’ll find coastal swamps and the oyster culture for which the island is known. Whichever part of the island you’re wandering in, you have the impression of being in a world apart, of escaping from reality.

Be sure to visit Oléron Castle where you can still marvel at the 17th century citadel and the city walls. Le Château d'Oléron is comes to life in the summer with concerts and night markets offering the best of local produce, including oysters and fine French wines.

La Palmyre Zoo, one of Europe’s most famous zoos, is 20 miles from the campsite and is home to over 1,600 animals.
