Domaine La Mathonière is a small campsite of about 2 hectares in the heart of the Allier in the Auvergne. It is situated in a landscape of hills, forests and farmlands. The site is bordered by hedgerows. Three quarters of the campsite is formed by a sloping field with a big old oak in the middle. Peace and tranquility, no more busy city life sounds, but a background choir of our local residents like grasshoppers and crickets, croaking of frogs and the many sounds of the songbirds and raptors.

Next to the house, 3 cottages have been build inside the formal hay barn. These cottages are fully furnished and equipped with a kitchen, sitting area, dining area and a bathroom with shower and toilet. Two cottages are equipped for 4 people, with two large bedrooms upstairs. The third cottage is equipped for six people with 3 bedrooms. At Domaine La Mathonière you will also find several luxery safari lodge tents. These stylish tents have been carefully finished with a wooden frame that creates a lovely atmosphere. Each safari tent is located on a spacious plot where you can enjoy optimal privacy. From your tent you have beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Domaine La Mathonière lies next to a quiet country road, which ends after 100m in a sandy trail leading you into the forest. These woods are ideal for walking. Because of its quiet location and no surrounding traffic, children can play safely on and around La Mathonière

Children can also enjoy themselves at our multiple playgrounds or with the animals. On warm days you can cool down in the large above ground swimming pool.

If you don’t feel like cooking, we would love to do it for you! We serve breakfast and dinner.
In the evenings we regularly make a cosy fire. A perfect place to dream away with a glass of wine or to make tasty marshmallows. All this underneath the star filled sky, listening to all the nightly sounds.

Domeine de La Mathonière in de Auvergne is een kleine maar ruime parel in 't groen, 7 uur rijden vanaf ons Breda. Deze camping is op natuurlijke en relaxte manier helemaal ingericht voor de kleintjes, zodat de ouders ultiem kunnen ontspannen. In het midden van alle safaritenten is een hele nette kindvriendelijke speeltuin. Hier spelen alle kinderen samen, ons kind kon heel veilig spelen en zij is zo 2 jaar oud. En ook de kampvuuravondjes of een Table D'Hôtes zijn ingericht voor het hele gezin. Zo begint de Table D'Hôtes pas ná de kinderen hebben gegeten in het restaurant en slapen. De camping is super netjes afgewerkt, elk detail klopt en er zijn een hele leuke gastheer en -vrouw: Menno en Ingrid. Echt een aanrader als je kleine kinderen hebt.

TIPS:

"In de buurt is niet mega veel te doen, wat kleine lieve stadjes. En pop museum is wel echt tof. Maar je wil de camping toch niet af."
