Le Sainte-Marie campsite and holiday park is in an unspoilt setting in the heart of the French département of Pyrénées Orientales, 12 km from Perpignan and just half an hour from the Spanish border. A holiday at this campsite is all about the natural and cheerful feel of the place. There are both daytime and evening activities here: shows, dance nights, contests, stand-up, karaoke, magicians, music … the list gets as crazy as you can imagine!

Equally, though, you can of course make your own day by going away from Le Sainte-Marie campsite, for example to the beach, which is only 3 km away. If you don’t fancy roaming too far from your mobile home, however, you can head to the on-site pool for fun in the water and sun, quenching your thirst at the bar and eating at the restaurant. Miniature golf and other sports on site will keep you active, too. There are bouncy castles for the children, and even a Camping Le Sainte-Marie mini-zoo where you’ll ‘safari’ among ponies, horses, llamas and sheep!

The local area is surprisingly varied. Sainte-Marie is a town worth wandering through and has a Romanesque church. Have a drink at Canet harbour, too. The mountain looming in the background is Canigou (2784 m), and you’re well within reach of the regional capital Perpignan and also within reach of Spain.

The campsite is just 8 miles from Perpignan. Explore the charming medieval city centre, including the Castillet city gate (now home to the Museum of Catalan History), the Hotel de Ville (“Loge de Mer”) and the Palace of the Kings of Majorca. The river Basse runs through the city centre and has beautiful planted gardens running along its edge.

Take a guided tour around La Vallée des Tortues (the Valley of the Tortoises) at Sorèd, home to over 500 living tortoises from more than thirty different species. For an action filled day, try horse riding excursions from nearby stables or go-karting, before heading to the exciting fairground rides at nearby Luna Park.
