In the immediate vicinity of Holiday Park Westerbergen lies the Ruinen Forest, a beautiful forest with deciduous and coniferous trees, fens, and an area where Scottish Highland cattle graze. The campsite also borders the Dwingelderveld, a vast heathland. The province of Drenthe offers excellent facilities for hiking and cycling. Numerous paths and routes lead you through the beautiful countryside. In addition to routes through cultural and nature reserves, there are also special themed hiking trails. For mountain bikers, several challenging ATB trails have been established.
