Accommodation on campsite Pomport Beach

campsite Pomport Beach, Dordogne

How do you like the sound of a relaxing, authentic French retreat with a good glass of wine? Pomport beach is a small parc in the heart of the Dordogne’s vineyard country and is ideal for peaceful holidays in the countryside. S

et within 12 hectares of land close to the famous Château and vineyard of Monbazillac, the parc offers direct access to a lake beach and its own lake, where you can enjoy fishing, swimming and hire pedalos. There are some basic dining options on site, including a pizzeria and snack bar, and you’ll find a supermarket 1 km away in Sigoulès. Whilst you’re out and about exploring, don’t miss historic Bergerac. Tour the narrow streets before stopping at a beautiful flower-filled square for the ultimate French dining experience!

Visiting:
Château de Monbazillac:
This 16th century château is a local landmark and is famous for the quality of its wines. Take a tour of the château with its grand rooms and enormous wine cellars, then enjoy a sample of the excellent wine. Tours of the vineyard are also available in July and August.

Bergerac:
The historic old town with its half timbered buildings, lovely flower filled squares and narrow streets is the perfect place for a leisurely afternoon. Do visit the Maison de Vins de Bergerac located in the heart of the old town in a beautiful old cloister, where you can learn all about the history of the Bergerac wines.

St Emilion:
Surrounded by vineyards, this wonderful little town is filled with historic monuments including the imposing Kings Tower and hidden underground, a unique monolithic church. But it is the wine that this town is famous for! The vineyard of Saint-Emilion was the first vineyard ever to be listed as a world heritage site and there are plenty of opportunities to visit the local vineyards and enjoy a wine tasting
