The dramatic Gorges du Verdon, often called Europe’s Grand Canyon, provides opportunities for canoeing, hiking and panoramic drives.
To the north, the Alps bring a completely different atmosphere. Mountain areas such as the Mercantour National Park offer hiking, cycling and cooler summer temperatures. This contrast between sea, countryside and mountains makes the region uniquely versatile.
