Campsite Orbitur Costa de Caparica, Lisbon
A small campsite with an ideal location, just south of Lisbon. Although the trees are not fully grown there is still plenty of shade and the pitches are separated by green hedges. Its location is perfect if you want to visit Lisbon and there are also good on-site facilities and entertainment. The chidren play safely and there is a friendly bar and restaurant that serves a wide choice of meals. A small pathway leads to the beach, which is around 100m away.
A good opportunity to discover Lisbon. It is the city of Fado music and great Portuguese discoverers. The seven hills of Lisbon are connected by lifts, rack railways and unique old tramlines. Children will love the well-designed zoo that was constructed for the world exhibtion. A large bridge over the Tago river will lead you to the peninsula on the opposite side of the river. For a small fee you can park your car at the riverside and take a boat ride to reach the city. The Lisbon bridge is based on the famous Golden Gate bridge in San Franciso and was a gift from the USA after World War II. There is a huge statue of Christ, like the one in Rio de Janeiro, that guards ones end of the bridge. On the southern edge of the peninsula is the city of Setúbal. The coastline that connects these two great cities is called the Costa de Caparica. It is famous for its pine forests and beautiful sandy beaches.
