Rovinj is without doubt one of the most beautiful seaside resorts on the Adriatic. The old city lies high on a peninsula and was, in the Middle Ages, part of the city-state of Venice. Hence the Italian atmosphere. There are numerous friendly pubs and restaurants around the central square of Rovinj and at the harbour. The tower of the 18th century St. Eufemia church offers an incredible view of the city of Rovinj and the archipelago. The lovely coastline of Istria with its many bays and islands is a dream for lovers of watersports, sport fishing and diving. There's a shipwreck off the coast where you can dive.
