If you are looking for a beautiful and charming (glamping) campsite in Croatia right by the sea, Camping Valkanela is a fantastic choice. This large, lively campsite is set within an attractive, rolling landscape with lush Mediterranean greenery on the Istrian peninsula. Its picturesque setting in a stunning bay between the towns of Vrsar and Funtana is truly unique. On site, you will find a newsagent and souvenir shop, a restaurant and pizzeria, a beach bar, an inviting terrace, an internet point, and a supermarket just a short distance away. For water enthusiasts, there is a large, attractive swimming pool complex featuring a children's pool and a sun terrace. Pets, including dogs, are welcome for an additional fee, and there is even a dedicated dog beach.
A wide selection of glamping accommodation is available, including a premium mobile home village where guests share access to their own exclusive swimming pool. These mobile homes can be booked directly through the campsite.
Enjoy the views and varied coastline
The campsite enjoys magnificent views across towards Vrsar and the surrounding islands. Valkanela is bordered by delightful rocky, pebble, and sandy beaches. The pebble beach stretches for roughly 2.5 km with gently sloping entry points into the water, paved sunbathing plateaus, grassy lawns, and a dedicated children's beach—providing plenty of space to soak up the sun. The crystal-clear sea is ideal for a cooling swim, and the beach carries Blue Flag status in recognition of its pristine water quality. Sun loungers, small boats, and pedaloes are all available for hire by the water.
Family-friendly facilities and active pursuits
Sporting facilities include tennis courts, beach volleyball, bicycle hire, table tennis, miniature golf, angling, pedalo and canoe hire, as well as a boat jetty complete with a crane. A variety of signposted walking and cycling trails also run straight from the campsite.
Younger guests are exceptionally well catered for, with multiple play parks, a trampoline, and a fun water play park. A lively miniclub runs throughout the season alongside an extensive programme of activities, live evening shows, and themed parties.

Camping Valkanela sits close to the charming fishing village of Vrsar on the Istrian peninsula—the largest peninsula in the Adriatic, famed for its clear waters and pristine coastline. Be sure to explore the historic core of Vrsar, located just moments from the campsite. Boat trips run from Vrsar and Funtana out to the Brijuni Islands, offering a good chance of spotting dolphins along the way. Along the promenade in Vrsar, you can sample traditional Istrian dishes at the many local restaurants. The historic resort of Poreč, the scenic Lim Fjord (Limski Kanal), and the quaint fishing village of Funtana are all well worth a day trip, while the coastal waters offer a paradise for scuba divers.

Grote camping, mooie tent waarin wij verbleven, leuke en fijne couriers ook. Op de camping zelf veel voorzieningen en erg goed onderhouden. Dus alle ingrediënten voor een heerlijke vakantie. Verder zit je hier op een goede locatie om Istrië per auto te ontdekken

Geweldige vakantie in een safaritent gehad, onze eerste ervaring en die was zeer positief. Een nette en schone en grote camping waar volop vermaak en faciliteiten zijn. De grootte van de camping heeft ons overigens totaal niet gestoord, het kwam niet zo over. Dit kwam omdat de camping langgerekt is. Langgerekt kiezelstrand dus, genoeg plek overal. Onze tent waren we echt superblij mee, was erg compleet ingericht en door het windje ook lekker koel 's nachts wel een voordeel van logeren in een tent aan de kust. Diverse activiteiten moet je voor betalen, dat is wel een minpuntje. Verder is het eten op de camping goed en daarbuiten liggen ook op loopafstand enkele fijne restaurants.

Dit was onze derde vakantie op Valkanela en het blijft een heerlijke camping. Het strand is prachtig en hier kun je nog eens echt uit eten gaan op de camping. Het nieuwere sanitair gebouw ziet er keurig uit. Wij gebruikten ons eigen luxe sanitair in de perfect ingerichte stacaravan. Een nadeel zijn de extra kosten die je moeten maken, voor alles moet je betalen namelijk.

Een supergrote camping, maar dat is normaal in deze regio. Hier is echt alles aanwezig. Wij hebben een toptijd gehad. Echt genoten van alles. Het nieuwe sanitairblok is fantastisch, zaten zelf in een glamptent zonder sanitair. Alle activiteiten die aangeboden worden zijn fijn.
TIPS:
"Vrsar, rovinj, Pula etc. etc. En een boottocht is echt leuk om te doen. Excursie op camping aangeboden."

Een mooie en grote camping met de perfecte ligging aan zee. Ons verblijf in een Lodgetent met sanitair is perfect bevallen. De voorzieningen waren leuk en keurig. Jammer dat er voor veel nog extra betaald moet worden. De bedjes bij het zwembad o.a. (heeft wel een voordeel dat er altijd bedjes waren.)

Een hele grote maar wel geweldige camping. Onze Glamlodgetent had de perfecte plek, lekker rustig en toch genieten van alles wat aangeboden wordt op de camping. De camping is werkelijk perfect verzorgd, alleen wel her en der verouderd sanitair. Gelukkig ook heel goed verzorgd sanitair, echter wel verder lopen. Aanrader voor de camping, zet trekkers in de douches zodat alles niet zo nat en vies wordt. Werkelijk een prachtig kiezelstrand en stukje zandstrand. Aan het water eettentjes, en gezellige kraampjes.

Van hieruit kun je mooie uitstapjes maken naar o.a. Rovinje en Porec. De camping heeft mooie watercomplex en zelfs een zandstrandje bij de mooie kiezelstranden. Verder minder positief over de sanitairvoorzieningen, jonge wat een bende... De soort mensen hier op de camping, lallerig en niets aantrekkend van anderen was zeker niet ons ding. Jammer volgend jaar een andere camping.

Lekkere ruime plaatsen, mooie accommodatie (via Arke). Ligging aan het mooie blauwe water met een mooi strand, werkelijk super. De ligging is ook lekker rustig. Schoon sanitiar.
