campsite Siblu La Carabasse, Languedoc-Roussillon
La Carabasse is one of the most prestigious holiday villages in Languedoc, on France’s south coast. This stunning resort looks beautiful, has an enormous pool with a 4-lane waterslide and an area for toddlers, and is close to Mediterranean coast beaches and the seaside town of Vias Plage. This destination is extremely popular with families who enjoy the lively atmosphere and numerous activities, sports and fun-packed kids clubs - you can see why in this high energy video from the team!
The pool is fully lifeguarded , there are three free children’s clubs. The camp site offers free outdoor evening family entertainment, visiting bands and performers.
La Carabasse has its own Beach Club on the sandy beach which is just a short walk from the village. Vias Plage has everything from bars and restaurants to discos, shops and a fun fair. Stretch your legs a little further and you’ll arrive at places like the old town of Vias and the beautiful Canal du Midi.
Every evening, La Carabasse hosts shows and performances from its giant outdoor entertainments venue, with local acts and the village team combining to create shows that the entire family will love. La Carabasse is the idea fly-drive destination, with Beziers (5 miles), Montpellier (40 miles), Perpignan and Nimes (both 70 miles) airports all close by.
Visit Petit Tropez: Billed by the locals as a smaller version of St Tropez, the modern bustling port of Cap d'Agde offers an impressive selection of shops, restaurants and bars. As well as indulging in eating, drinking, shopping and yacht-spotting, you could always hire a boat or go diving. To stop you feeling yacht-envy - some of the boats here are the size of small villages - turn your back on the port, and focus on choosing some homemade ice cream. There are some great beaches nearby and you will be hard pressed to keep children away from 'Toonsland' and the famous 'Aqualand' with its giant flumes, waterslides and wave machine.
It took 12,000 men, starting in 1666, to build the famous Canal du Midi. If your children don't want to explore its 235km on foot, how about, by boat, bicycle or horse instead?
