Since 2026, Camping La Grande Métairie, Camping Domaine de Kermario, and Camping Moulin de Kermaux have joined forces to create one expansive five-star holiday resort: La Grande Métairie de Kermario.

Camping La Grande Métairie de Kermario is situated in southern Brittany (Morbihan department), close to Carnac. This family-friendly resort is set around an old, restored farmhouse in a lush, countryside setting with two scenic lakes that lend the grounds a charming character. The campsite is located directly opposite and just 100 metres from the world-famous megalithic sites and prehistoric standing stones of Carnac – a sight Obelix would be proud of – where over 3,000 megaliths and mysterious dolmens stand in alignment. The generous pitches offer plenty of privacy, nestled among mature trees and natural greenery.

Water park and relaxation

The fantastic aquatic area spans three distinct pool complexes, complete with colourful planting and palm trees for a tropical feel. Featuring multiple outdoor pools, covered pools for cooler days, water slides, a paddling/children’s pool, and a relaxing lazy river, there is endless splashing fun for all ages. For ultimate relaxation, guests can enjoy a hot tub/jacuzzi, a hammam, massages, and a sauna.

From the 2027 season, the facilities will be expanded even further with a brand-new retractable-roof children's pool, a refurbished balneotherapy and wellness area, and a new snack bar.

Facilities, dining, and activities for all ages

The central amenities are partly housed within the tastefully restored farm buildings. The Blue Lagoon restaurant provides a stylish setting overlooking the pool; after a delicious meal, you can unwind with a drink at one of the bars or out on the poolside terrace. There are also several snack bars, a mini-market, and an on-site bakery offering a daily bread service. Little ones will love the playground and the mini-petting farm with gentle animals, where children are even invited to help feed them in the mornings.

Prefer staying active? On-site facilities include a football pitch, tennis courts, basketball, volleyball, boules, table tennis, mini-golf, archery, and even an exciting treetop adventure course with a zip wire, as well as pony rides during the summer. An enthusiastic animation team organises a wide variety of activities, including kids' clubs for all age groups up to teenagers, alongside lively family evenings with shows, concerts, karaoke, and discos.

The surrounding region is ideal for exploring on foot or by bicycle. Carnac's bustling town centre is just 2.5 to 3 km away, offering a wide selection of brasseries, restaurants, boutiques, supermarkets, pizzerias, and traditional bakeries. The beautiful Breton sandy beaches, Carnac-Plage, and Port de la Trinité are within easy reach (around 3 to 4 km, or a 7-minute drive). In the peak season, a complimentary shuttle bus runs between the campsite, Carnac-Ville, and the beach.

From Carnac-Plage, you can take in panoramic views of the islands of Houat and Belle-Île, as well as the Quiberon peninsula. Cycle across Quiberon to admire its rugged, dramatic coastline, or take a boat cruise across the Gulf of Morbihan, an exceptional inland sea dotted with islands. Historic towns such as Auray (with its picturesque medieval harbour of Saint-Goustan, approx. 15 km away), Vannes, Josselin, and Quimper are also well worth a visit.
