Accommodation on campsite Siblu La Réserve

campsite Siblu La Réserve, Aquitaine / Les Landes

La Réserve is a holiday village in Aquitaine with its own lakeside sandy beach on the calm and clear waters of Lake Biscarosse. La Réserve is surrounded by pine trees and so the parc feels as though it’s a hidden idyll. The sands gently slope into the still waters of the lake, making this a perfect beach holiday if you have youngsters.

La Réserve is packed with fantastic facilities including an indoor and outdoor pools, a variety of sports pitches including tennis courts, a new bar and restaurant area and a fun-packed entertainments venue. The campsite has three free children's clubs , three outdoor play areas, bike hire. There is a restaurant and bar and free evening family entertainment.

The stunning sandy beaches of Aquitaine are nearby (13 miles), with beautiful view of the ocean, sandy coast and miles of pine forest available from the top of the Dune du Pyla, Europe’s largest sand dune. Cycle paths lead from the holiday village through the surrounding forest and to the coast. There is a range of water sports available for the more adventurous, with coaching courses for windsurfing and sailing for beginners.

Places to visit around la réserve:
Bordeaux is best known for its wine, but it offers much more. It is filled with magnificent 18th and 19th century buildings, cathedrals, World Heritage listed monuments, a theatre and not to mention a wealth of luxury shops. You’ll definitely need more than a day to tour this fabulous city. We recommend the tour “Bordeaux Secret des Grands Vins” – a day trip to St Emilion taking in the sights of Bordeaux including the historical centre, vineyards and a visit to a wine dealer ‘en route’. Price from around £40 per person.

Dune du Pyla is the largest sand dune in Europe. You can't miss it. It's immense. It also has a life of its own, in a slightly scary Triffid-type way. It has already swallowed trees, a road junction and an entire hotel! But if this doesn't scare you, then it's worth getting a view from the top (approx 40mins drive).
local delicacy

Oysters are a taste that I've failed to acquire but if you like them, then you have to go to the Bassin d'Arcachon (approx 40mins drive). It's a large natural lagoon and its oysters are said to be the best in France. But happily for me Arcachon also has great beaches and good sailing.
